<p>The primary objective of this book is to probe into the menace of air pollution in Delhi, which has emerged as the main threat to public health and the environment in the capital city. It also discusses about the other highly polluted cities of the world, specifically Mexico City, which has faced environmental emergencies due to air pollution in the past, and how these cities have prepared themselves to combat the menace of air pollution, and what can be learnt from their experiences to face the same situations in Delhi. <p>Prakash Chand Kandpal is a Professor at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has five books to his credit: Environmental Governance in India: Issues and Challenges (Sage, 2018), solely authored, and four co-authored books with Prof. Bidyut Chakrabarty: Public Administration in a Globalizing World: (Sage, 2012), Indian Administration: evolution and practice (Sage, 2016), Public Policy: concept, theory, and practice (Sage, 2016) and Public Administration: from Government to Governance (Orient BlackSwan, 2017). His areas of interest are Public Administration, Public Policy, Local Governance, and Environmental Policy, Governance and Politics in India.</p>
