Beschreibungen

Nanomaterials is a field of nanotechnology that applies a material science approach. It is the study of materials with morphological features in nanoscale dimension imparting them properties that enables their uses in a variety of applications. One can trace back the applications of nanomaterials way back in history as dye material in ceramics and use of gold colloids for the medical treatment of dipsomania, arthritis etc. This volume ropes in different properties of nanomaterials such as mechanical, thermal, biological, optical and chemical. In the first chapter an attempt of a newly formulated electron dispersion laws to study the 2D effective electron mass (EEM) of quantum wells (Qws) of nonlinear optical, bismuth within the framework of earlier formalism etc has been discussed. Effect of several variables on effective thermal conductivity of nanofluids, nanofluidic behaviour (flow properties and boundary slip) in nanochannels, a mathematical model on nanofluid flow and heat transfer characteristic, novel heat transfer fluids are drafted in this volume. An overview of the wave propagation in carbon nanotubes under initial compression stresses is offered in this volume and its potential application in designing of nanoelectronics and nanodevices. Gold nanoparticles (nanomaterials) supported over anatase and rutile TiO2 and its catalytic potential for CO oxidation are reviewed with its industrial and environmental importance. A study of electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of ?--Fe2O3/Fe3O4 coated fabric is performed using ASTM D4935 method. A comprehensive study regarding the development of nanoparticles of organic ligands capable of enhancing and quenching fluorescence for increased sensitivity and specificity of sensors is illustrated. Various parameters effecting nanoscale field – effect transistors based on grapheme and nanowires, impact of non-covalent interaction on the dispersion of carbon nanotubes, rheological characterisation of nanoparticles based on Bio- modified binder, influence of factors on magnetoresistive properties of three layer film systems CoNi/Ag(Cu)/FeNi, features affecting the properties of quantum dots by epitaxial growth process are presented. This volume focuses on experimental aspect of the various physical and chemical factors that influence the properties of the nanomaterials. The volume is designed for researchers and scientist that are into hard core research of synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials and also acts as a data bank for under-grad’s and graduates students who are keenly interested in this prosperous field on inventing novel materials for better future.
